Levis Strauss's theory applied to our music video

Levi Strauss argued that a structure of narratives was a dependence on binary oppositions which is a conflict between two qualities or terms, these binary oppositions can form the basis of narratives e.g young -old and male-female. Narratives can be organised through binary oppositions of gender stereotypes. Masculine stereotypes are: the idea that men are professional, strong, rational,competitive, independent, aggressive, ruthless and ambitious whereas females are seen as the complete opposite which is domesticated,weak, emotional, co-operative,communal,passive,sensitive and supportive. In our music video we use this absolutely clearly because throughout the video we see that she is emotional,weak and sensitive because it shows the audience how she misses her boyfriend and how she wishes she didn't make a mistake by losing him which shows that he is her weakness as she keeps becoming very emotional over losing him.
